Verse of the Day
Numbers 35:19
Reflections On The Scripture: This scripture from Numbers speaks profoundly to the immutable law of reciprocity, popularly known as 'eye for an eye'. It highlights divine justice confronting human iniquity. Yet, in our world today, we should be careful to not apply this passage too literally. Christ came and taught us about forgiveness, turning the other cheek, love and grace overshadowing revenge. It's important to remember that Christ empowers us to forgive, to offer mercy, and to leave justice in God's hands. We're called to love above all else, even when faced with great wrongs done against us. Allowing God's divine justice to prevail rather than seeking our own vengeance is the hallmark of a mature Christian love.
