Leviticus 8:25
And he took the fat, and the rump, and all the fat that was upon the inwards, and the caul above the liver, and the two kidneys, and their fat, and the right shoulder:
Reflections On The Scripture: God's word is enlightening us here about the meticulous detail and care in the preparation of sacrifices, an important act of worship at that time. He didn't accept an ordinary or carelessly prepared offering. It illustrates for us that God is in the details and appreciates our wholehearted efforts. Today, we may not offer physical sacrifices, but we can provide sacrifices of love, of our time, and of our resources. The challenge for us is not just to give God something. The key lies in the attitude and devotion behind our 'offering'. Every act of giving to God should be thoughtful, sincere, and the best we can bring, because, just like in Leviticus, God values the heart behind the sacrifice more than the sacrifice itself.
