Verse of the Day

Joshua 22:16
Thus saith the whole congregation of the LORD, What trespass is this that ye have committed against the God of Israel, to turn away this day from following the LORD, in that ye have builded you an altar, that ye might rebel this day against the LORD?
Reflections On The Scripture: In every action, in every step we take, we must be mindful of our allegiance to the Lord. Our purpose and intentions should always serve and honor Him. This verse from Joshua presents a stark reminder that actions perceived as rebellion towards the Lord are not taken lightly. When we decide to build our own "altars," those of pride, self-reliance or misguided desires, it's as if we're turning away from Him, trying to dethrone Him from our hearts. It's a gentle yet firm nudge for us all to examine the "altars" we may be, knowingly or unknowingly, constructing in our lives. Let's live in obedience, not rebellion, echoing a unwavering chorus of devotion and dedication to the God of Israel, the eternal, the unchanging, the ultimate source of our existence.
