Verse of the Day

Job 6:14
To him that is afflicted pity should be shewed from his friend; but he forsaketh the fear of the Almighty.
Reflections On The Scripture: Our heavenly Father teaches us tremendous lessons through the book of Job. This verse reminds us of our calling to be the hands and feet of Jesus, to reach out with sympathy and tenderness to those who are in affliction. It signifies a beautiful portrayal of friendship, in which a friend is expected to show kindness, even if their friend seems to abandon their faith. This is a gentle admonishment against judgement, reminding us not to forsake those who doubt. Doubt isn't an enemy to be driven off, instead, it's a signal to be listened to. If a friend is struggling with their faith, may we remember Job's words here. May we offer compassion instead of criticism. After all, compassion is the glory of God in human form. It is how we pass his love to one another.
