Verse of the Day

Jeremiah 52:18
The caldrons also, and the shovels, and the snuffers, and the bowls, and the spoons, and all the vessels of brass wherewith they ministered, took they away.
Reflections On The Scripture: This verse from the book of Jeremiah calls our attention towards the painstaking detail and care that the Babylonians put into collecting the sacred utensils from the temple. They are meticulous in their plunder. What if we put the same effort and focus on collecting our spiritual 'utensils' with such fervor? Just as tangible vessels of brass were important in ministering and worshiping in biblical times, so are the intangible vessels of faith, hope, love, forgiveness, patience, kindness, humility, and self-control. They are our spiritual vessels that allow us to effectively minister and worship God in our lives. May we strive each day to not just collect, but to also carefully nurture and use these divine attributes in our daily lives, growing closer to God and fulfilling His purposes.
