Verse of the Day

Esther 1:14
And the next unto him was Carshena, Shethar, Admatha, Tarshish, Meres, Marsena, and Memucan, the seven princes of Persia and Media, which saw the king\'s face, and which sat the first in the kingdom;)
Reflections On The Scripture: The power of proximity to the King is embodied within this verse. These seven men, these princes of Persia and Media, were elevated above the others, not because of their prowess or unique abilities, but because they were privileged to see the king's face, they sat at the seat of power. Think of this in God's kingdom - we are privileged to be in the presence of the King of Kings. We have access to unfathomable power, wisdom, and grace not by our own merit but by being in His presence, by engaging in regular communion with Him through prayers, studying His word and living out His teachings. Let's strive to be like these seven princes, not in terms of worldly power, but in our closeness to our King, our God. Our proximity to God is the defining factor in experiencing His power and sovereignty in our everyday life.
