Verse of the Day

2 Chronicles 6:26
When the heaven is shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against thee; yet if they pray toward this place, and confess thy name, and turn from their sin, when thou dost afflict them;
Reflections On The Scripture: This verse speaks clearly to the power of repentance and forgiveness. When we fall short - when we sin - the heavens might feel closed to us. It could feel like spiritual drought with no rain to nourish our souls. The beautiful truth shown here is that God, in His infinite mercy and love, always offers a way back to Him; a way to open the heavens again. All it involves is our genuine prayer, our acknowledging of His Divine Name, and most importantly, our decision to turn away from our sinful ways. When we experience afflictions, they are not punishments, but rather tenderness of God drawing us back to Him. His grace is always sufficient and His arms always open.
