How Having a Grateful Heart Can Change or Save Your Life

Having a grateful heart can literally be a lifesaver for some people, and in many cases it can be life changing, too. Whether you’re facing a serious illness or other difficult time, or you just want to feel better and stronger, having faith and gratitude can help with your health and wellness. A happy outlook and trust in the Lord helps you see more blessings in the world, and in your own life.

It’s not always easy to feel grateful, though, when facing hard time. It can be easy to question why you’re being tested or challenged in certain ways, or why something bad has happened to you and not someone else. Those aren’t questions that can be easily answered, except to understand and acknowledge that God has a plan for everything. He knows what you’re going through, and why it’s a part of your life. When you practice gratitude along with your faith, your battles are fought more easily.

Gratitude + Faith: The Winning Combination

For a winning combination in your life, you can’t do better than gratitude and faith. Faith is the cornerstone of your believes and focus, and it helps you understand the value of your life in the grand scheme of things. Keeping yourself health is important for your own joy and experiences, but it also lets you help others who may need you. If you’re unwell, that becomes much more difficult.

Gratitude for the little things is also a way to wellness. It’s easy to get depressed and upset with all the trouble in the world. It’s also easy to become unhealthy through activities and choices that are often encouraged by society in general. But you don’t have to be a part of those things. There’s so much beauty and wonder throughout God’s world, and it’s worth taking the time to see it.

God is Always There in Times of Trouble

Faith in the Lord gives you strength, and helps you lean on God in times of trouble. He’s always there when you need Him most, and He hears your prayers. If you’re ill or struggling in some other way, or you just want to be healthier than you are right now, lean on Him as you work toward your goals. Talk to Him when you don’t want to push through, or when you’re afraid of failing.

The more you address God and talk to Him, the more you’ll draw closer to Him and feel His presence in your life. People who are grateful and happy are often healthier overall, and their gratitude helps them move through problems that could cause others to give up. There’s always something to be grateful for, even in situations that aren’t ideal, or when you’re scared or hurting.

Good Health Includes Good Spiritual Health

Having health and wellness as a big part of your life is more than just eating right and exercising. Those things are important, but they aren’t the only areas where you need to cultivate a grateful heart. Good mental and spiritual health can both help you feel healthier and be more grateful for everything God has given to you. Staying close to the Lord improves those areas.

If you’re finding that gratitude isn’t as easy for you today, or you’re having a difficult time cultivating a grateful heart due to current life circumstances, turn to God and lean on His word. You don’t have to deal with heavy things alone. God will help you carry any burdens you have, and help them feel lighter. That encourages you to focus on gratitude, and when you see the value in everything God has made you naturally want to take better care of it, which includes taking better care of yourself.

Wellness Can Be Easier When You Feel Grateful

A grateful heart can encourage you to take care of everything you value in life. It can lead you to go to the doctor for a wellness check, address a mental health concern, or simply slow down and reduce your stress levels. When you couple that with faith, you see a bigger picture of all that the Lord has provided for you to enjoy.

God is good, all the time, and recognizing all that he offers to His children is the way to move forward with the changes you know you should make. Those changes can improve your life, and may even be the way to save it.
