Verse of the Day

Revelation 14:20
And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs.
Reflections On The Scripture: This passage from Revelation 14:20 conveys a strong, vivid image of a pending judgment. It's important not to be alarmed or frightened by this image, rather we need to see it as a reminder that our actions in this world have consequences in the next. The metaphor of a winepress being trodden outside the city, bringing forth blood, is chilling, but it serves to remind us of the vital importance of living righteously and justly. The spilling of the blood could symbolize the repercussions of our poor choices or the effects of turning away from God’s commandments. It is an encouragement to all of us to walk firmly in His ways, secure in the knowledge that His mercy and grace cover us and gives us hope for a better tomorrow.
