Philippians 2:9-11
“Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
Reflections On The Scripture: In this life we strive for significance, we quest for achievement, each aiming to carve out a high place within our given sphere. Yet, here we are reminded, that there is a Name, a person, who stands far above any height we could aim to reach. His exaltation is not a consequence of self-promotion, but a divine appointment. All the power, prestige, and popularity in the world are nothing in comparison to the majesty of Jesus, for He was exalted to the highest place by God Himself. We're called in this verse to bow, in humble recognition of His deity, for heaven and earth to acknowledge His sovereign rule, His lordship over all. His name rises far above all others, calling us to shift our gaze from our striving and to focus instead on celebrating His glory. This is the splendor to which all achievement pales, the glory that outshines all earthly fame. Let our tongues and the corners of our hearts that strive for recognition acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the ultimate glory of God the Father.
