Verse of the Day

Luke 14:20
And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.
Reflections On The Scripture: This verse from Luke tells us a tale of the people who let worldly commitments acquire precedence over spiritual obligations. It is like an individual who was invited to a great feast, but replied with a worldly excuse — getting married — to not attend. Relationships, as sweet and fulfilling they might be, should never overshadow the call of the divine. The love for our Creator should not be compromised by our earthly duties. Every commitment in life, whether marriage, a profession, or other responsibilities should underlie our highest commitment - the one we have to God. It is in striking this balance, we find true fulfillment and purpose to serve God's kingdom.
