Verse of the Day

Genesis 47:18
When that year was ended, they came unto him the second year, and said unto him, We will not hide it from my lord, how that our money is spent; my lord also hath our herds of cattle; there is not ought left in the sight of my lord, but our bodies, and our lands:
Reflections On The Scripture: This special scripture from Genesis 47:18 paints a graphic picture of utter dependence, immense humility, and the unquestioned acknowledgment of people's emergent situation. They are out of options, left with no other choice but to thrust their whole existence under the mercy and provision of their lord. This is a perfect mirror to our relationship with God. We all, in the depths of our despair and periods of loss, come to Him with wide open hearts, acknowledging our human limitations and His divine omnipotence. We willingly offer up not just our wealth, but our very lives and everything we are and hope to be. God becomes our Ultimate Provider, the One who nourishes our bodies, minds, souls, and spirits when everything else is spent and exhausted.
