Verse of the Day

Ecclesiastes 4:1
So I returned, and considered all the oppressions that are done under the sun: and behold the tears of such as were oppressed, and they had no comforter; and on the side of their oppressors there was power; but they had no comforter.
Reflections On The Scripture: This verse from Ecclesiastes reminds us of the painful reality of this world - oppression. It's very easy to get discouraged when we see the ones in power oppressing the weak, seeing tears of the oppressed with no one to comfort them. It seems like a bleak scene, doesn't it? Yet, it also calls us to reaffirm our faith. As children of God, we are the vessels of His love and comfort. Even in the shadow of oppression, we can bring light. We are urged to stand by the oppressed, to be the comforter they lack. For power is transitory but the love of God, manifested through our acts of kindness and justice, has the real enduring power. This is not merely a reflection on the state of the world, but an invitation for us to act upon it with compassion.
