Verse of the Day

Daniel 10:9
Yet heard I the voice of his words: and when I heard the voice of his words, then was I in a deep sleep on my face, and my face toward the ground.
Reflections On The Scripture: In a world filled with incessant noise, it is often when we are most quiet and still that we hear the voice of God. Daniel 10:9 offers a tender image of the prophet Daniel, in deep sleep, his face humbly turned to the ground when he hears the divine words. This moment illustrates the power of surrender, humility and serenity. God often speaks to us, not in grand choruses and pealing bells, but in whispers that brush our hearts like a breeze. It is in our moments of deepest surrender, when we are facedown and humbled, that we are most able to hear these divine whispers. Let this remind us to adopt a posture of humility, surrender and serenity in our relationship with God, to still our hearts and minds enough to hear his divine voice.
