Verse of the Day

Acts 27:12
And because the haven was not commodious to winter in, the more part advised to depart thence also, if by any means they might attain to Phenice, and there to winter; which is an haven of Crete, and lieth toward the south west and north west.
Reflections On The Scripture: Sometimes in life, we find ourselves in places that are "not commodious to winter in," much like the mariners in Acts 27:12. These uncomfortable places may not necessarily involve the physical elements of storm and shipwreck, but they are tempests and tumults of life nonetheless. They are spaces filled with emotional strain, spiritual doubt, and all shades of human suffering. However, this verse teaches us that it's alright to leave these places and seek a 'better harbor', a Phenice. There is no shame in shifting our direction when the current circumstances are not beneficial or seem overwhelming. It is a part of navigating life's stormy seas and hewing out our unique path. As we journey, let us anchor our hope and trust in God, our divine compass, who guides us towards the safe harbors and gives us the resiliency to weather any storm.
