And it came to pass in the eighteenth year of king Josiah, that the king sent Shaphan the son of Azaliah, the son of Meshullam, the scribe, to the house of the LORD, saying,
Reflections On The Scripture: Sometimes, we're called upon, like King Josiah, to seek counsel and wisdom from those appointed by the Lord. Just as the king honoured Shaphan the scribe, we should respectively value those chosen to steward God's wisdom. It is a beautiful testament to humility and the open-minded pursuit of understanding. It's a poignant reminder to us to not let our titles, positions or perceptions of self-importance hinder us from seeking counsel. Always remember, leadership fortified by godly wisdom, like King Josiah’s monarchy, is unshakeable and enduring.
