King Uzziah stepped into a role not meant for him—burning incense to the Lord, a task designated to the priests, sons of Aaron. His actions crossed a divine line and were neither honored nor accepted by God. In our lives today, we might be tempted to overstep our roles, believing we have an express right or capacity to do certain things. However, this story of Uzziah admonishes us to respect God's provisions and the roles He has designated to each of us. We should not take upon ourselves a role God has not given us.
