How God Impacts Our Lives Daily

What happens when you choose to turn your life around and live for God, to walk with Him?

A lot, actually.

See, you can’t enter into the presence of God Almighty and not be affected. Some linger and allow Him to transform them, while others reject those amazing gifts and simply walk away.

The choice is yours.

It’s difficult to imagine what your life might be like when you do take His hand – when you choose to follow Him. But this will give you a glimpse. If you are already walking with God and have sort of started taking these things for granted, here’s your little reminder.

Here’s how God impacts our lives daily.

He Gives us a New Family

Your family may be great, and that’s wonderful, but when you allow God to be a daily part of your life, you also allow His people to be a part of your life as well. Scripture describes the closeness of a body of believers and in some ways it is closer than a family. When one rejoices, they all rejoice. When one feels sorrow, they all hurt. Members build each other up and help each other grow spiritually and stay the course.

25 That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another.

26 And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.  ~ 1 Corinthians 12:25-26

You get a New Heart AND a New Spirit

God’s word tells us that when you choose to walk with Him, He will give you a new heart and a new spirit. The new spirit he is speaking of is the Holy Spirit whom God gives to those who obey Him (1 Corinthians 12:25-26). This means that the way to look at things, especially people, and react to them needs to be different, more Christlike. Over time, you will begin to reflect the fruits of the spirit (Galatians 5:22-23) as long as you are obedient to God. The deeper you get, the more like Him you are and the more tender your heart will be towards people.

19 And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh:  ~ Ezekiel 11:19

He Helps You Weather the Storms in Your Life

Not only does God help you weather the storms in your life, He changes your mindset so that you learn to appreciate them because they are where you grow. It’s in the storms that you really cultivate that deeper relationship with your creator and learn to rely solely on Him for all your needs. You learn that the storms are beautiful because they are a reminder of His love, provision, and protection.

3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;

4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope:  ~ Romans 5:3-4

You Have Peace and Joy

You may be stressed sometimes – we all do – but God says that we are to cast all our cares on Him (1 Peter 5:7). Doing this gives you peace and joy which Jesus promised. He said that there will be difficult times, but if you keep your eyes fixed on Him, you will overcome. You will have peace. You will have joy.

33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.  ~ John 16:33

You are no Longer of the World

When you decided to follow God and live for Him, you are no longer of the world. This means that the things of the world are not of interest to you because you are pursuing holiness and your mind is on heavenly things. Jesus called you out of the world and said if you love the world then God is not in you. This means that you cannot love the world and love God. That is double-minded and scripture says you can’t eat at two tables (1 Corinthians 10:21), so come out of the world now.

15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.  ~ 1 John 2:15-17

You Show Kindness to and Help Others

There’s just something about the way God works on your heart. The closer you get to Him, the more like Him you become – and the more you come to love people. Scripture repeatedly tells us that we are to help others, show kindness, and share the gospel so that everyone can be saved.

17 Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.  ~ Isaiah 1:17

You Have a Light that Tells the World You are His

When God puts His spirit inside you, His light shines out of you so that anyone can see that you are Him. Have you ever seen those Christians who just glow? They have a light inside them that draws you to them. That’s the light that is the Holy Ghost inside you. It is fueled by your daily worship as you glorify God.

16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.  ~ Matthew 5:16

You do not Fear

Fear is not natural. Scripture tells us that fear is a spirit and that God did not give it to you. Because fear is not from God, when you are filled with God there is no room for fear. When fear rears its head and tries to intimidate you or tries to keep you from moving forward and pursuing the things that God has planned for your life, know that it did not come from Him. Rebuke it and keep moving forward.

7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.  ~ 2 Timothy 1:7

You are Never Alone

No matter what happens you are not alone. As long as you are obedient to God and are faithful to Him, He will not leave you or forsake you. He will always be there with you. You will never be alone.

18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. ~ John 14:18

There are so many ways that God impacts your daily life; this is really just a drop in the bucket. When you choose to live for Him your life will never be the same.
