Verse of the Day

Proverbs 23:5
Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? for riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward heaven.
Reflections On The Scripture: Life has a way of teaching us that the pursuits of this world are fleeting. The richness of Proverbs 23:5 provides a vivid image of this truth. Just as an eagle soars high into the sky, out of our grasp, so can our worldly riches. They're uncertain and temporary. They make themselves wings and fly away, often when we reach out the most to hold onto them. Our focus, therefore, should not be fixated on these earthly treasures. It's essential not to anchor our hearts on what is temporary, but rather on the eternal - the heavenly treasures that offer true and lasting satisfaction. In everything, let's remember to seek first the Kingdom of God and put our trust not in wealth, but in the One who richly provides.
