Jedaiah and Hattush, both stepped up to repair and mend what was broken in their respective dominions, right against their own houses, symbolically acknowledging that the task of mending what's broken, begins at home. It is a beautiful reminder for us that in repairing and building our faith, we must start with our own hearts and homes. It invites us to take personal responsibility for our spiritual growth, and in doing so, we indirectly contribute to the greater repair of our spiritual community. Just as a well-built house starts with each individual brick, a nourished spiritual community starts with each individual heart.
