Verse of the Day

Jeremiah 28:13
Go and tell Hananiah, saying, Thus saith the LORD; Thou hast broken the yokes of wood; but thou shalt make for them yokes of iron.
Reflections On The Scripture: In Jeremiah 28:13, we observe that the Lord's ways are not like our ways. We often desire to lighten the burden or wish for easier paths. But God, in His wisdom, sometimes says, "I won’t just make it lighter, I will make it heavier. You've broken the yokes of wood, you now need to bear the yokes of iron." We might wonder, "Why, Lord?" Just like the blacksmith hammers the iron repetitively and heats it to the point of melting, to mould it into a tool of purpose, God uses adversity, struggles or even iron yokes to mould us. He uses them as tools to shape our character, to strengthen our faith, and to reveal His glory through us. Therefore, instead of resisting these iron yokes, let us see them as divine instruments designed to shape us according to the Master’s plan.
