Verse of the Day

Genesis 2:14
And the name of the third river is Hiddekel: that is it which goeth toward the east of Assyria. And the fourth river is Euphrates.
Reflections On The Scripture: Even as rivers course through the Earth, carrying water to breathe life into nature, God’s Word is a ceaseless river, nourishing our souls and spirits. The rivers mentioned in Genesis 2:14 once physically marked the Garden of Eden, but in a spiritual sense, they also imply that the blessings and provisions of the Lord are everywhere. Like the third river, Hiddekel, that runs towards the east of Assyria, and the fourth, Euphrates, our purpose may be specific and directed, but they emanate from the same source - God's divine intention for us. These rivers persistently flow, never running dry. We are reassured of God's endless wisdom and love, an ever-flowing river that seeks to refresh, renew, and restore us, even in the furthest east or the bustling cradle of civilization.
