Verse of the Day
Ezra 10:11
Reflections On The Scripture: Sometimes, obedience to the Lord requires us to pull ourselves away from the influences that keep us entangled in sin. It could be people, places, or things that are not in line with God's word. Today's verse from the book of Ezra reminds us to confess our shortcomings to God, and to separate ourselves from these influences. Just as Ezra urged the people to leave their strange wives for they were a hindrance to their covenant with God, we too should be willing to let go of whatever pulls us away from our heavenly Father. Irrespective of how difficult it may seem, when we prioritize God’s pleasure above ours, He fills our lives with blessings unimagined. This doesn't symbolize condemnation but rather a life that is focused on pleasing God and living according to His Word.
