Verse of the Day
2 Samuel 15:3
Reflections On The Scripture: In the context of this scripture, Absalom, the son of King David, is cunningly turning the hearts of the people away from their king toward himself. He presents himself as the one who listens and cares – the one who would give them justice if he were only in a position of power. This teaches us two important lessons. Firstly, we should be wary of those who use flattery and false sympathy to manipulate us. Instead of solely relying on human counsel, we would do well to place our trust in God's wisdom and guidance, who is the ultimate judge above all. Secondly, this verse reminds leaders of their responsibility to be a true listener, someone who genuinely cares, and a righteous judge for their people. Every interaction matters. Let’s strive to be honest, listen diligently, and speak wisdom into those we lead, as modeled by our Lord.
