Verse of the Day

2 Chronicles 34:11
Even to the artificers and builders gave they it, to buy hewn stone, and timber for couplings, and to floor the houses which the kings of Judah had destroyed.
Reflections On The Scripture: In our lives, we face situations that mar us, break us and leave us in ruins. This verse in 2 Chronicles paints the tale of extreme renovation - the rebuilding of houses that once stood grand. In the face of destruction, it's easy to lose hope, to feel overcome by negativity. But this scripture charges us to view our setbacks as setups for remarkable comebacks. It calls us to pour resources (like the artificers and builders did with the stone and timber) into the places that have been damaged - to purposedly reinvest in our battered faith, fractured relationships, lost dreams. We've experienced kings of Judah in our lives - trials that have left us shattered. Yet, the grace of God commissions a renewal that burgeons from the debris. It's a loving decree that initiates the reconstruction of our lives towards an even more splendid design, just like the houses that kings of Judah once demolished.
