Verse of the Day

1 Kings 20:5
And the messengers came again, and said, Thus speaketh Benhadad, saying, Although I have sent unto thee, saying, Thou shalt deliver me thy silver, and thy gold, and thy wives, and thy children;
Reflections On The Scripture: When we look at 1 Kings 20:5, we see Benhadad demanding much from the Israelites: silver, gold, wives, and children. Benhadad represents those in our lives – individuals or circumstances – that demand things of us, pressing us on all sides, attempting to steal our joy, our peace, and our faith. But, as believers, we know that our worth and our possessions do not come from worldly riches. They come from our relationship with the Lord, from his love and his grace. We do not need to bow down to the demands of the world, for we are held in the strong, loving arms of our Heavenly Father. So steel yourselves against these pressures, for the world can only take what we are willing to give. Stand firm, steadfast in your faith, and God will provide for you.
