Reflections On The Scripture: Just as the frankincense and oil were used to prepare the meat offering in the Old Testament, so too must we prepare our hearts and lives as an offering to the Lord. The oil signifies the workings of the Holy Spirit, lubricating, healing and invigorating every part of our being. The frankincense, with its sweet, heavenly fragrance, symbolizes our prayers and praises wafting up to the throne room of God. So, let us invite the Holy Spirit to permeate every part of our lives and let our prayer and worship be a sweet aroma to the Lord. Let our lives be devoted, pure, and a pleasing offering before God in all that we do.
