Reflections On The Scripture: In Lamentations, the author mourns for the destruction of his city, his heart aching for the effects it has on it's inhabitants. Like him, sometimes our hearts break when we see the struggles of our own community. We witness the daughters and sons of our city grappling with challenges, experiencing pain, fighting battles. But in those moments of despair, remember this - Our God is a God of restoration and He brings great redemption out of dire circumstances. When the troubles of the world darken the city, we are called to shine the light of His love even brighter. The discord we see can act as our calling from God, His voice whispering to our hearts to help the daughters and sons of our city find their way back to Him, to stand in faith for them, and to shine His light in the darkness.
