Verse of the Day

Joshua 10:37
And they took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and the king thereof, and all the cities thereof, and all the souls that were therein; he left none remaining, according to all that he had done to Eglon; but destroyed it utterly, and all the souls that were therein.
Reflections On The Scripture: Just as Joshua and the Israelites acted decisively in their mission based on God's command, it brings to focus the importance of unwavering dedication in our own spiritual walk. The verse isn't simply a tale of victory achieved but is a potent reminder of the consequences of defiance against God's instructions. It teaches us that there will be battles to wage and stern decisions to make that could seem insurmountable or daunting, yet the path of righteousness is achieved by being steadfast in faith, shrugging off the remnants of the past, and focusing on the prescribed path. Like Joshua, a heart truly aligned with God will know no hesitations and will follow unquestioningly, eradicating traces of temptations, regrets, doubts, and fears, to completely let God's light radiate our being. In this way, we can utterly destroy our internal Eglons, freeing our souls from their clutches, thus claiming our victory in Christ.
