Jeremiah 43:2
Then spake Azariah the son of Hoshaiah, and Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the proud men, saying unto Jeremiah, Thou speakest falsely: the LORD our God hath not sent thee to say, Go not into Egypt to sojourn there:
Reflections On The Scripture: However harsh, this verse prompts a crucial question we must ask ourselves – Are we too like the proud men not ready to heed the warnings or guidance provided by the Lord through His vessels here on earth, due to our own egos and preconceived notions? Jeremiah, being a messenger of God, was sent to warn the people, but they rejected it claiming him to be false because the message was hard for them to swallow. Today, it's important to maintain our humility and acknowledge that God's wisdom transcends our understanding. This entails trust, obedience, and receptiveness, even when His words conflict with our own desires and comprehension. Remember, submitting to His will might feel uncomfortable for a moment but will reward us with peace and righteousness in the long run.
