Verse of the Day

Isaiah 58:3
Wherefore have we fasted, say they, and thou seest not? wherefore have we afflicted our soul, and thou takest no knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast ye find pleasure, and exact all your labours.
Reflections On The Scripture: Sometimes, we feel as though our acts of devotion go unnoticed, our efforts of obedience feel in vain. We might question, much like the people in Isaiah did, why our actions are seemingly ignored. But, let us remember that our love and devotion for God shouldn't be about seeking recognition, but rather, sincere worship. It's about the unseen acts of kindness, the quiet prayers, and the selfless love we show to others - that's the true substance of our faith. It reminds us that our faith is not meant to be a show, but rather a deeply personal relationship with the Lord. He sees our heart, our motivation, and nothing is truly hidden from Him. As His word reminds us, He prefers mercy over sacrifice. So while we fast and pray, let's not forget to express our faith and love through actions that help others and glorify Him, for that's when we truly labor in His vineyard.
