Verse of the Day

Ecclesiastes 9:11
I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.
Reflections On The Scripture: This scripture from Ecclesiastes is a blessed reminder that success on earth is not merely an outcome of strength, speed, wisdom, or skill. In the earthly reality, it would seem that these characteristics will inevitably lead to victory and fulfillment. However, the Bible teaches us that it isn't necessarily the swift who win the race, nor the strong who win the battle. In the eyes of divine providence, time and chance operate on everyone without preference. This verse serves to ground us, reminding us not to place our trust solely in our own abilities or merits. It helps us understand that despite our most diligent efforts, outcomes are not solely under our control. This is not a call for complacency, but rather, a call to humility and reliance on God, because ultimately, it is His divine purpose that unfolds in our lives.
