Verse of the Day

2 Kings 18:2
Twenty and five years old was he when he began to reign; and he reigned twenty and nine years in Jerusalem. His mother\'s name also was Abi, the daughter of Zachariah.
Reflections On The Scripture: In 2 Kings 18:2, we are introduced to an individual of significance who steps into leadership at a young age of twenty-five, a young king with the weight of a kingdom on his shoulders. We learn with the passing years of his reign, over the span of twenty-nine, he gains wisdom and understanding as a leader. His mother, Abi, is also mentioned, a woman of strength, capable of raising a king. In our lives, too, we should step boldly into the roles God has called us to, regardless of our age or circumstances. Like this young king, we may start with little experience, but with God, we are capable of accomplishing much. The mention of his mother, reminds us of the significance of the women in our lives - they shape us, nurture us, and play a part in the story God writes for each one of us.
