Verse of the Day
2 Kings 14:1
Reflections On The Scripture: In an era where Israelites were governed by their chosen kings, we see the reign of Amaziah ushered, succeeding his father Joash, as the king of Judah. While royal succession brings to mind power changes and extravagant ceremonies, what's critical for us to remember is the spiritual metaphor embodied - the notion of rebirth and renewal, an opportunity to amend past mistakes, and to lead with righteousness. As inheritors of God's kingdom, every day offers us the prospect to 'reign' in our lives, to serve our God in faith, just as Amaziah embarked on his journey of kingship. Let us inhabit the role of 'king' over our actions and decisions, being led by our heavenly Father, and using our daily 'reign' to radiate His love and wisdom.
