Verse of the Day

2 Chronicles 33:7
And he set a carved image, the idol which he had made, in the house of God, of which God had said to David and to Solomon his son, In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen before all the tribes of Israel, will I put my name for ever:
Reflections On The Scripture: This verse reminds us of the grave mistake of placing our own idols before God. In the house which God Himself had declared holy, an idol was placed, a creation of man and not of God. It's a call to each of us to examine what 'idols' we might have brought into our own hearts - what are we prioritizing over our relationship with God? These idols need not be made of stone or wood but could be our ambitions, distractions or even certain relationships. Remember, God chose us before we could even comprehend His existence. And it is a joyful contentment that He wants us to reside in, not in the temporal satisfactions these earthly idols provide. Indeed, we should always aspire to remain steadfast in our faith and keep our focus on God and His eternal love for us.
