Reflections On The Scripture: In today's modern, fast-paced world, it's all too easy to be lured by the Baals of our time: materialism, instant gratification, or social status. Yet, as 2 Chronicles 23:17 illustrates, there comes a time when we must make a stand against these lesser gods of our own making. The people of Chronicles chose to break down the house of Baal, shattering the false altars and images and severing themselves from their misguided devotion. Though our own Baals may not be physical structures, the process is the same. We must not shy away from tearing down these false idols in our heart, for it is through this act of faith and courage that we clear a path for genuine, heartfelt worship and rediscover the true, life-giving connection with our loving Creator.
