Verse of the Day
1 Samuel 8:17
Reflections On The Scripture: God's word in 1 Samuel 8:17 is not just about His sovereign claim over a tenth of your sheep, your possessions, or even your earnings. It's far deeper than that. It's speaking to us about our true commitment to Him, our surrender, and our willingness to be His servants. Being a servant signifies the act of submitting in honour and respect to a Master, to God in this context. When we give what is due to God with a cheerful heart, we acknowledge that everything we own truly belongs to Him. It's not about the exact portion, the tenth, it's about faithfulness and obedience in acknowledging that God is provider of all. We become true servants when we yield under His divine authority and generously share our blessings as an act of worship and gratitude.
