Verse of the Day
1 Corinthians 6:12
Reflections On The Scripture: "Lawful" represents what is permitted, but this verse prompts us to question the nature of our choices beyond legality. Indeed, there may be things that are lawful, yet they are not beneficial or serve a purpose that aligns with God's plan. Our freedom comes with the responsibility to discern between what will build us up and bring us closer to God's kingdom versus what will lead us astray. It is a call to live by the spirit and not merely by the law. The Apostle Paul reminds us, we have the liberty to do anything, but not everything is necessarily constructive or appropriate for maintaining our spiritual freedom. We must shun those habits or indulgences that can dominate us and pull us away from our walk with God. Remember, worldly pleasures may be permissible but, we must not allow them to govern our lives. Instead, our strength and liberty should be anchored in Christ who empowers us to live righteous lives.
