Kindred Spirit’s vision is to reach out to pregnant teens that need a safe place to live to during pregnancy, extend God’s unconditional love, and welcome them into a healing home.

Kindred Spirit is a privately funded 501 (c)(3) organization.

In 2004, Kindred Spirit, Inc. was formed to reach out to pregnant teens so that they may experience God’s love through living in a family type home and sharing community with Christian staff and volunteers. The heart of the ministry is the residential care home, where pregnant teens learn the necessary skills and abilities to prepare for whatever comes next – whether they decide to parent their child or make an adoption plan. The ministry serves young women in practical ways while providing daily emotional and spiritual support. Working with community partners, necessary training and services are provided to meet the short and long-term needs of pregnant women.

Following each resident for twelve months after leaving the home, we offer spiritual guidance, mentoring, and assistance with education and career decisions, life choices, and encouragement for avoiding of a subsequent pregnancy. Continuing the work begun during residency, the After-Care program offers support to new moms through regular contact and visits. A Christian Fatherhood Initiative is underway to encourage involvement of the father in the child’s life and assist in developing healthy relationships. We also have a program for Day Participants for young women that do not need to live here.
